Dr. Mohamed Emara at ICMST 2013

We are congratulating Dr. Mohamed Emara – The Academic advisor of the  Students Affairs dept.  and Manufacturing Engineering Assistant Professor at the Canadian International College– for being welcomed by the International Conference on Manufacturing Science & Technology (ICMST) as a member in the Technical Committee.

ICMST 2013 is created to provide a prime international forum for researchers, industry practitioners and environment experts to exchange the latest fundamental advances and the practice of Manufacturing Science and Technology as well as joint-venture and synergic research & development across both areas. This conference also provides an opportunity for delegates to exchange new ideas and application experiences and publish their research achievements.



Dr. Emara has also joined many conferences in 2013:                                                                                     
1-   The 3rd  International Conference on Multifunctional, Hybrid and Nano-materials (Hybrid Materials 2013). It was held on  March 3rd to  7th in Sorrento, Italy for a poster presentation on his research topic about biodegradable materials.
2-   The 2nd International Conference on Manufacturing Engineering and Process (ICMEP 2013, April 13th & 14th in Vancouver, Canada for his research topic on metal matrix composites.
3-   The 4th International Conference on Materials and Manufacturing Technology (ICMMT 2013). It was held on May 11th & 12th in Seoul – South Korea. He was acting as a Session Chair evaluating 14 research papers as well as an oral presentation on his research topic about nano-materials.
4-  The International Conference on Engineering Materials and Technology (ICEMT 2013) that was held on May 15th & 16th in Amsterdam,  Netherland. For an oral presentation on his research topic about nano-mateials.

Dr. Emara has been acting as a teaching assistant at the American University in Cairo (AUC) since 1994. In 2005, he joined the Science and Technology Research Center (AUC) as a research assistant and then as a research associate. He was an assistant professor at the Mechanical Engineering and the Engineering Services Departments at the American University in Cairo. He has number of publications since 1998 and his fields of specialization are metal matrix composites by powder metallurgy and bio-materials composites by compression molding. And he was awarded the faculty excellence award at the Canadian International College (CIC) in 2012.

We are tuned in for his attendance in the 4th International Conference on Manufacturing Science and Technology (ICMST 2013) that will be held on August 3rd & 4th  in Dubai – UAE.

Thinking Government: Public Administration and Politics in Canada by Dr. David Johnson


Dr. David Johnson; Professor of Political Science at Cape Breton University (CBU) and the Author of “Thinking Government: Public Administration and Politics in Canada”  that was named as one of the Top 100 Best Political, Government, Public Policy and Canadian History Books in 2011.
It’s nice to know that his book is being read far and wide and that it is respected by students, other academics, and people working with governments and public services. He is currently working on his next book with colleagues, and CBU faculty, Dr. Andrew Molloy and Dr. Tom Urbaniak, on the issue of intergenerational change and public service renewal within the Canadian Federal Government.

International Model of the European Union at CIC


The Canadian International College (CIC) hosted the International Model of the European Union (IMEU)’s event at New Cairo campus. IMEU is the only simulation model of the European Union in the Middle East held at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science – Cairo University.

This event’s main objective was to provide the youth with an overview of how the decision making process takes place around the globe. It was joined by almost 100 students from 2 high schools; Modern School of Egypt “MSE” and Ramsis College for Girls.

It's important that CIC students acquire team work and negotiation Skills; two common objectives that both CIC and IMEU share.

CIC’s Annual High Schools Tournament 2013


The CIC’s High Schools Tournament is an Annual event for High School Students held every year at New Cairo Campus. The event was held in mid March and was joined by 250 students from 10 High Schools; Rajac American School, Victoria College, El-Bashayer International School, Al-Alyaa Private School, Sheraton Heliopolis Language School,  Futures Maadi School, Futures Nasr City School-Boys, Nasr American School, Nasr English School and Continental International School.
Schools have the opportunity to win CIC’s High Schools Tournament Cup and certificates based upon the performance of their students through the tournament week in 4 different games; Soccer, Basketball, Tennis and Table Tennis. 

Who won the first place?? >>> Join us in congratulating Sheraton Heliopolis School (Soccer) and Futures Nasr City School for Boys (Basketball) for wining 1st place. 

CICians at Orascom

In addition to classroom experiences, CIC is always keen to organize field trips for Engineering students to involve them in the world of technology. A field trip to Orascom – Credit Agricole Construction Site – was organized for Civil, Manufacturing and Communication majors in mid of March, 2013. 

The project manager held an orientation about the project and the steps they will go through. They also had a shadowing tour related to their majors with a specialized technical coach to know more about the Engineering techniques followed by a session held by the safety coach about the industry safety.

Students cited that their participation in the program was a significant experience.

CIC’s Annual Mock Interview


Going for an interview is tough and it’s an essential step for your career. And that’s why CIC is always keen on helping its students and Alumni to be prepared for it in today’s competitive marketplace.
The Mock Interview is an annual event held by CIC to assess the potential graduates' strengths and  weaknesses. It was an asset for them to know their weakness points and how to improve and develop them before going for a real interview.
111 Students participated in this interview with 12 of the largest companies in Egypt including: Pepsico, Microsoft, Leoni, Agility Logistics, Qube Consulting, IBM, IMI, Linatel, Wasla Outsourcing, Giza Systems, Mobinil and El-Kharafi Group.

Each student got an assessment for his or her performance in the interview and two CIC’s Business Administration students received job offers. Nabil El-Gendy received 2 job offers at Leoni and IMI as well as Ibrahim Fakher got an offer at Agility Logistics.
CIC assist students throughout multiple development sessions to equip them with the skills needed in today's market.

360 Solutions Development Sessions at CIC


Success is recognizing talents, working to develop them into  skills and using these skills to accomplish goals. CICians joined 8 development sessions presented by 360 Solutions – training and consultancy organization – at the Canadian International College (CIC).
51 students were keen to attend these sessions led by 360 solutions which specializes in employee training and business consulting. The sessions covered self confidence, goal setting, interview skills, communication skills, team work, business etiquette , work ethics and problem solving .
With these sessions and similar workshops, CIC continuously ensures that students are well equipped and prepared for the real world upon graduation.
