@AhmadAiyad: OMG! I'm speaking on the panel of the final session of #WEF

Ahmed Aiyad a Business Administration Graduate from the Canadian International College tweeted about his participation in the WorldEconomic Forum (WEF). WEF is a global Non Profit Organization that promotes & assures suitable life standard for population & enhance their well being through economic projects held by small entrepreneurs from all over the world. WEF held its regional meeting in the Middle East in Istanbul, Turkey. Ahmed Aiyad spoke on the panel of the final session about the current changes happening in Egypt regarding the economy, politics & social changes. Ahmed Aiyad is an entrepreneur member of a group called “Cairo Hub” that links different entrepreneurs in Egypt, the group's aim to serve the community in a better way.

“CIC was the start of something great even when Business Administration wasn't my passion” he continues “ CIC provided me with the opportunities to start with the Canadian staff", Ahmed quoted.

An Interview With Google

Dina Ashraf and Dalia Ashraf students at the Canadian International College interviewed Mr. Wael Fakharany Google’s Regional Manager in Egypt, which was published in TeenStuff Magazine on November 2011.The interview was about Mr. Wael Fakharany & his secretes to success he said that” the secret behind any success is falling in love with what you do and immediately you’ll become successful”.

Google is an international search engine company that cares about entrepreneurs & sustainable business.ابدأ” with Google. 



Google’s competition launched in Egypt on September 2011 until May 2012. It is a competition to discover Egyptian entrepreneurs and encourage them to achieve their dreams by creating a feasible business model. Google aims to fulfill these goals by partnering with a local NGO “Science Age Society” and a technology incubator to manage the competition and reward the winning company with funding to fulfill their financial needs with a maximum of up to $200,000. “By2olak” service was the final winner with the $200.000, it is a mobile application that tells you whether there is traffic in certain streets and bridges www.by2olak.com .

Dina & Dalia asked Mr. Wael Fakharay about his dreams for the ابدأ” with Google competition he said that” I want the next Facebook or Google to come from Egypt, because we believe in technology and I’ve seen it changes lives. I’d like all technology companies to build the entrepreneurship spirit in the country. If this happens, over a few years, Egypt will witness a major transformation”.

Fab Lab Egypt Promotes Innovation & Creativity To Students

Fab Lab is an Egyptian NGO that has a plan in extending fabrication labs all over Egypt targeting schools and university students together with young entrepreneurs, to be serving the whole Egyptian community. Fab Labs were born at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In Fab Lab you can learn everything about digital fabrication from 2D/3D modeling to electronics and fabrication by the available electronic tools, laser cutter, 3D Printer and CNC milling machine. It will take you from the concept design till a final prototype. Also you can find people whom you can work together and share knowledge.

Innovation and Creativity are the main concepts that Fab Lab supports. It’s an excellent chance to see your project comes to reality like too many projects and events that were held by Fab Lab like the ilamp workshop, the daily exhibition and fanoos Ramadan competition. The positive competitive environment help the members to be more creative and encourage them to exploit their potential skills.


CIC students can take apart of the Fab Lab and contribute in encouraging the idea of creative thinking and implementation. Engineering students must not hesitate to join such NGOs to implement their electronic or practical project and turns it into reality. The gained experience will help the student to be an effective part of the field of work.

Andrew Trambley's Graduation Project Featured on Rotana TV




Canadian International College is always keen in equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to develop in their careers. Andrew Trambley is a CIC fresh graduate who featured on Rotana Masrya on Wednesday 13th of June, as his film won the first place in CIC's Mass Communication Festival 2012.

The School of Mass Communication graduated its first cohort and gave them the opportunity to showcase their graduation projects to a committee consisted of various media figures to assess and rank them. Among the major of broadcasting, Andrew Trambley’s movie “a new beginning” ranked as the first place and has been honored by Eng. Magdy El-Kady, the president of CIC, and Prof. Suzan El-Keliny, Dean Mass Communication. ON TV's Yosri Fouda and Mr. Samir Farag were both in the attendance.


Andrew quoted that it was a great chance and experience for him to be able to deliver the message he targets in his movie.

Canadian Ambassador Visits CIC

CIC hosted the  New Canadian Ambassador, his Excellency Mr. David Drake, he attended a presentation about CIC with Dr. Ramy Sallam & Prof. Dr. Abdel Hai Ebeid & Mrs. Hala Hamed, CIC Deans as well as Dr. Mohamed Emara , Professor at CIC. Mr Drake was impressed by the achievements of CIC as a qualified Canadian educational system during this short period of time.


CIC takes pride in inviting the Canadian Ambassador for it's annual convocation every year.

Mr. Ferry de Kerkhove, former Canadian Ambassador to Cairo, addressing class 2010 at the Fairmont Hotel.


His Excellency met up with the potential graduates of & discussed their experience at CIC followed by a group photo in their caps & gowns. The convocation will take place on July 15th at Fairmont Hotel in Cairo. Mr. Magdy El Kady, CIC President then joined his Excellency on a campus tour

Mr. Drake is The Canadian Ambassador for The Arab Republic Of Egypt since 2011; he got his Bachelor of Honor from Carleton University, Ottawa, 1977 & his MSc in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, Washington D.C 1979.

Members of the Press Assess Media Projects at CIC

CIC hosted a jury of public figures to evaluate graduation projects of the first alumni who will be graduated next 15th July at Fairmont Hotel Cairo. The jury was composed of Mr. Omar Anwar The Chairman Of Nile Sector Specialized Channels, Mr. Said Aly the well known announcer of Hadoota Masrya Program on Mehwar Channel, Mr.Alaa Thabet The Chief Editor Of Al Ahram Evening, Dr. Khaled Helmy Agency Director of Radio 1 For Media Production & Advertising, Dr. Mohamed ZaaZaa Agency Director of In-House Advertising Agency, in the presence of Dr. Suzan El Keliny, Dean of Mass communication.

The judges had ranked the graduation projects, which were displayed during the Mass Communication Festival on June 7th 2012, some of jury personnel had choose some of the students to join their agencies & companies. The projects were composed of number of short movies, advertisings & PR campaigns.

The 4th Annual Mass Communication Festival in CIC

Within the framework of celebrations of the Canadian International College, the 4th annual festival was held to celebrate and display student projects on Thursday, June 7th, 2012. This year exclusively is considered as a main event which is the graduation of the first mass communication cohort and presenting the graduation projects in front of different public figures and media experts.

The alumni organized this festival to make it a memory that will be remembered in the CIC’s history, the festival was held in Ottawa Hall and hosted many public figures, journalists and professors; from the important media experts who attended the festival, Mr.Yosri Fouda – the great journalist, Mr. Khaled El shakra – Advertising Director, Mr. Sayed Abu al-Yazid – Deputy Chief Editor of the Gomhorya Newspaper, Mr. Khaled Shabana - President of Nile Comedy Channel.  CIC was also honored to host Mr. Samir Farag - Head of the cinema, and Mrs.Mona Nashaat – Chief Editor of Horyaty Magazine.


Eng. Magdy ElKady, Chairman of the CIC, honored the graduates and the best projects . The team of the public relations and advertising who made the project (awareness campaign "Ya Masr Oomy" and the advertising campaign "Sinalco") won the first place according to all majors. 
As for PR and advertising; the project (awareness campaign "Akhdar Shafaf" & Advertising campaign "Eleven") won the first place, and at the level of Radio & Television; the two films "a new beginning" and "Adomya" won equally the first place. Mr. Samir Farag stated that there will be a signing cooperation protocol between the Union of Professional Film and Mass Communication department. 

CIC always motivate students to participate in various activities and interact in all the important events inside and outside the College.
